Job Description

Pathao, South Asia's leading super app for rides, food delivery, and courier services, is hiring a Backend Engineer to help scale our platform to tens of millions of daily users. You'll be building microservices, real-time APIs, and high-throughput data pipelines that power Bangladesh's most-used transport and logistics network. Responsibilities: - Design and build scalable Node.js microservices - Develop RESTful and event-driven APIs consumed by mobile and web clients - Optimize database queries and manage MongoDB/PostgreSQL schemas - Implement caching strategies using Redis - Participate in on-call rotation and incident response - Write clean, well-tested, and documented code

Requirements

  • ✓4+ years of backend development experience with Node.js
  • ✓Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event loops
  • ✓Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL
  • ✓Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ or Kafka)
  • ✓Knowledge of Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts
  • ✓Experience building systems that handle 10,000+ req/sec
